Gooseberries are a variety of wild currants with yellow, pale green or pink fruits, depending on the variety. They are mostly harvested on Bulgarian farms from June to August. Flavor: sweetish, slightly tart and very fragrant. Pairings and tips: delicious on soft cheeses, Parmesan and beef, but also on desserts, especially in strudel.
