Rigoni di Asiago has always sold its products in octagonal jars; it’s a shape that sets us apart and makes our products recognisable on the shelves, and we just love it.
The raw ingredients (fruit) selected by Rigoni di Asiago, depending on the type, may come from Italy (we have agreements with organic farmers, e.g.: citrus fruits from Sicily, peaches and apricots from Emilia Romagna, etc.) or from our farms in Bulgaria, where crops are under the supervision of Italian agronomists specialising in organic agriculture. Because all of our fruit is organic, it is much more dependent on the season, and therefore the availability of our raw ingredients varies depending on the time of year.
Some types of fruit (e.g.: berries, strawberries, wild berries etc…) come from our own Bulgarian farmlands, especially the fruit that grows spontaneously in mountainous areas, such as wild blueberries. Years ago our company could not find the necessary plots of land here in Italy, and in order to have a total control of the supply chain we purchased land abroad, after testing and certifying it for organic farming; these lands, under the careful management of expert Italian agronomists, provide some of the fruit that we use to produce our jams. The areas to be used for organic farming must not have been farmed for a long time, located in traffic-free areas, have pure aquifers… It was not easy to find farmland with these characteristics, and we found it in Bulgaria.
All honey crystallises sooner or later, even the varieties we usually find in a liquid state; it’s just a matter of time.
Honey crystallisation is a natural process that depends on
Thanks to our company’s expertise in honey production, we have developed a process to homogenise honey’s crystals, making it smooth and creamy, perfect for spreading and delicious to the palate.
Fiordifrutta is an organic fruit preparation with a low sugar content coming only from fruit, and it does not contain preservatives.
Due to its natural properties, the product after opening is stored in the refrigerator. Although we do not guarantee our Fiordifrutta for a specified period of time after they are opened, by storing an open jar with the cap tightly closed in your refrigerator, our products should last for several weeks without a problem. Here are some tips for having a longer shelf life:
Nocciolata is an organic and 100% natural product. Lumps are a product of the fats used in the preparation of our spread, sunflower oil and cocoa butter. They are natural, non-chemically modified fats that tend to maintain their natural physical properties. Cocoa butter is an unrefined fat which, at low temperatures, tends to return to its natural physical state by crystallising, until it reaches a solid state; this causes the “lumps”. This crystallization is a completely natural process that does not affect the quality of the product. Lumps melt easily by keeping the jar at room temperature (about 24-25°C) and stirring the product a little.
It is the same phenomenon that is often found in chocolate or chocolates.
To prevent this natural phenomenon, we have added a “maturation” phase (or a period of rest at a controlled temperature) in our process, to stabilise the structure of the product as much as possible.

Mielbio does not undergo any kind of overheating throughout its supply chain and is processed at room temperature. In this way all the natural and organoleptic properties of honey are preserved at best.
